Cathodic corrosion protection for cables which lasts almost for ever!

Bohlen & Doyen offers complete services to the energy sector and industry as a certified partner.

Cathodic corrosion protection (CCP)

The service life and operational reliability of steel pipes are affected to a high degree by corresponding corrosion protection measures. The costs incurred for this task amount to about 1 to 2 % of the total construction costs. We are available to you, with our knowledge and experience, to advise you on the planning, implementation and monitoring of such measures, and thereby help you optimise the use of resources.

Our services:

  • Project planning, installation and maintenance in the course of CCP, with continuous support to prevent interface problems
  • Measuring points construction and incorporation of modern contacting systems (PIN-praizing, stud welding process), and measuring position remote monitoring
  • Positioning of horizontal and depth anodes (10-9 m) on the basis of precise geological soil surveys
  • Special measuring procedures to assess underground facilities, use of location systems (e.g. radio detection PCM) for current distribution measurement and fault identification on U Hz basis
  • Potential measurements, long-term measurements (study of AC and stray current corrosion), standard measurement procedure with computer-based measurement technology and evaluation

Our strength:
Bohlen & Doyen employs specially qualified personnel who are fully versed in the complex requirements of CCP and are therefore also able to carry out the planning, development and servicing activities in accordance with the applicable regulations and laws (GW 12, DIN 30676, or AFK recommendations of DVGW). We advise you in improving your systems, and always with a view to the costs and the benefits.

The advantages for our customers:

  • With the aid of the measurements carried out by Bohlen & Doyen, the corrosion rate can be reduced to a technically negligible value, sustainably increasing the service life of the system components. This helps to ensure security of supply.
  • Reduction of maintenance and servicing costs to the minimum necessary, with resulting financial planning reliability
  • Adaptation of measurement strategies to the requirement situation and customer requirements
  • Planning, installation and commissioning of remote monitoring systems for the energy supplier
  • Takeover of the remote monitoring by Bohlen & Doyen, analysis and processing of measured data according to customer specifications
